Blessed Risings to each & every one of U!! Yesterday afternoon started up my newest Journey. I'm heading back up north for some very necessary family time. I Miss My Babies, both the grown & the lil 1s. It's been over a year since I held or hugged any of them. My farm family made sure to remind me several times before I left, that I Always have a home with them cuz “I'm family.” My 3 critters of the K9 type, seemed to know I was leaving, they stayed stuck to me for my last 24hrs in the house. I left knowing I helped my new family settle into their rental while waiting on their new home to be built.
The train ride started much nicer than my last ride back in March after I screwed my back up. It was quite comfortable actually, and I am greatful to have my own seat, peacefully all to myself. I was able to catch a few gorgeous sunset snaps while in Georgia, last nite.
Overnite was not as pleasant, unfortunately. The car all the northerners are in, has the A.C. cranked to walk-in freezer status, so sleep was not easy. I woke up pretty much every hour, trying to get comfortable, with my hoodie zipped to my chin & hood up over my head. By 5am I finally gave up trying to get some sleep and grabbed my face cloth, toothbrush & paste, went to the restroom & attempted feeling alive. Came back to my seat with anticipation of seeing the sunrise, only for disappointment that wherever we are currently, every skyline has been pure grey. At 6am the cafe car opened and still freezing with no reprieve, I went to go get the only heat I could think of, a cup of black coffee. The last coffee I had prior was 1 full week before Mother's Day. It wasn't satisfying but at least I warmed my hands a lil. On my way to the cafe car, I discovered the next car back is nice & warm. Had I known that last nite, I woulda left my stuff right here & found me an empty seat to catch a nap. But on the flip side, at least getting back to 65° max should feel decently warm after freezing on this train overnite. After drinking most of my coffee I realized I could have (& should have) gotten a cup of hot water instead, it would have warmed me up without any potential side effects, like aching joints tomorrow.
As U can see, it looks more like a snow sky, rather than warm Spring weather.
I have a lil over 3 more hours on this ride, then I switch over to a PeterPan Coach Bus, with several more hours til I finally get to my kids. All in all it's already been 1000x better than my trip southbound last year. After that trip I said I would not travel by Greyhound ever again & I meant it. My full trip is about 25-26hrs this time and tho it did cost me about double what last year did, it's worth the price for peace. I just wish I hadn't packed my blanket in my checked bag, lol.
I haven't been on much lately, due to literally packing 95% of the farm house by myself, every day after working in the field. The last 2 weeks have been 9-11hr days of hard physical labor, not leaving me much energy for anything other than a shower & bed. My presence will start picking back up again in the coming weeks, and I will finsh up the drafts I have started & publish them, some of which are bits & peaces from last summer. This past year has been a whole lotta very necessary internal work & life lessons. I feel Alive again and will be sharing a lot of that with U all very soon. Mad Love & Blessings for All Y’All🥰🥰👑👑❤️🔥❤️🔥☯️☯️🧿🧿👁️
