When I first began in the WWOOF program, I told all of U that when I had some experience with the whole shabang I would write up an informational review of sorts. This piece is to give U insight as to exactly what the program is all about so that U would be able to decide if U wanted to check it out for yourself or at least have some comprehension of it to pass along should the need arise. I have always been a firm believer in Networking in the aspect of Sharing Information. Growing up in poverty & spending the vast majority of half a century on this planet, living well below the Federal Poverty Guidelines, U learn very quickly that Information literally means Life or Death most often. However, U also learn just as quick that obtaining information is about as easy as walking up to random strangers with a pair of plyers in your hand offering to remove their teeth for free. U literally have to know Exactly What information U need and Where to find Who has that specific Information, as well as Specifically Which questions to ask in order to get the information necessary. 100% ass backwards, inside out, & just plain old Rigged Against the very humans who Need said information for Survival!! It's utter bullshit!! So I have made a habit out of consistently gathering information everywhere I go, about any and everything that I feel might be useful to other humans, then sharing said info as much as I possibly can.
I started into this part of my journey with some help from a Wonderful Friend of mine, a fellow Creative Gorgeous Soul with a Huge Heart (sshh don't get loud about that last part, he thinks it's a secret)
another one of my Brothers from another mother (I have adopted siblings everywhere- when U are My Peoples, U are My Peoples, plain & simple!!). His family had previous experience with the program & his sister reminded him about it, when I needed some assistance with direction. When he 1st mentioned it to me, I had never heard of it, nor had I ever heard of anything even remotely similar, program wise. Also the WWOOF program is apparently Global. This program is set up in a manner that U can “visit” host farms for different time frames, to gain hands on learning experiences in any aspect of farming which interests U. The time frames, working conditions, learning possibilities, and living conditions vary from farm to farm. I am currently at my 3rd farm and with less than 2wks left, I am still trying to figure out what my next step and next location is to be. Truth be told I am slightly nervous about this because currently Hosts are seriously slacking in their communication skills. What I mean by different Time frames is, some farms only accommodate local WWOOFers to do day labor or weekends, while other farms have “living quarters” on site to accommodate Ranch Hands or Farm Hands anywhere from a week to several months or a year. I've actually met 1 WWOOFer turned permanent Farm Manager and a couple of WWOOFers who between them and the farm repeatedly extended their “visit” for a total of about 15 months. With the WWOOF program U can get a farming education in plants &/or animals, as well as sometimes a construction education (tho this one here I will say goes more in line with what I would consider a Real farm, Not one of the Wokists fashion statement farms- confused by what I just said?? Read on!!), and if U are looking to start a farming business, there's farms for teaching U that as well. There's somewhere close to 1200 farms across the 50 states and P.R. So there's literally something for everyone. The farms that U can stay or live on, U pay for your room and board with Sweat Equity- in other words U work for it. The living conditions are not always honestly stated by the host farm so it's definitely a “buyer beware” scenario. If U are like me and doing this as a full-time educate yourself to Real Living, Sovereignty, and Self-Sufficiency, not just a weekend warrior going on a “camping trip” it can be pretty disappointing or even downright aggravating at times, because U will learn quickly upon arrival who is a Real Farmer & who is playing a part based on the latest fashion trend of being a pretendafarmer. In the long run it boils down to U are dealing with humans, some are Great, some are shitty, and some are just str8 up lying assholes. If U are serious about getting to know farming, U make the best of it & carry on. This shit right here tho, it's not for weak or fragile types by any stretch of the imagination. If U are physically strong but mentally weak, don't bother, U will have a fuckin breakdown. If U are mentally strong but physically weak, go work on building your physical health, endurance, and strength before attempting anything remotely related to farming. Regardless of which aspect (if not all) U choose to get into, U should automatically assume U need to be capable of lifting bare minimum of 50lbs regularly and working in Any weather conditions. So be honest with yourself about your capabilities first and foremost. Personally I've been a workhorse all my life, I have a solid frame, seriously muscular legs, love a challenge, crazy stamina, resilient mind, and am fluent in sarcasm (this last one helps more than U could ever realize!!)!! If U are adverse to sweating or getting dirty, are allergic to feces or other biological matter (see?? Sarcasm!!) farming is Not for U. If U have zero mechanical aptitude, and cannot follow pictorial instructions or verbal directions, farming is Not for U. On the other hand; if U don't give a fuck about getting dirty cuz… U know… soap & water exist, if U love sweating cuz U know it's one of the healthiest things your body can do, if U enjoy building and creating things, if U love being in Nature regardless of the weather, and U Love Animals, then Farming is Probably what U Should Be Doing.
At this point in my journey I can say that I think I would have enjoyed this program a lot more in the past before the Wokists bled into and started rotting everything from the inside out. Them fuckers really do know how to suck the life and joy out of everything, even Nature & Farming. I'm Ol Skool & if I Request to Visit Your Farm with This as my profile:
U Do Not Need to Ask Me WTF My Pronouns Are!! I Don't Have Any Pronouns- I Have a Fuckin Name!! I'm not requesting to visit your farm so that I can have a Politically Correct Social Camping Adventure while building community and making friends!! I Am Requesting to Visit your Farm to Work my ass off & sweat my balls off While learning How to Be a fuckin Farmer!! But that's Me, I came from a Generation who actually despises False Advertising & Appreciates the finer things in Life, like honesty, Political INCORRECTness, and Speaking Your Mind, Where Everyone Was Offensive- Yet Nobody Was Offended!!
I've also read farm profiles where they actually state U are Required to be Shot (that Cvd19 kill shot bullshit) to visit their farm. I'm instantly disgusted when I read something like that cuz they are probably murdering all their poultry like good lil sheep as I write this!!
Anywhooo… as for your getting to and from host farms, that is 100% your responsibility. Some hosts will pick U up from the nearest transportation method and return U upon the end of your stay, but Not all of them do, so U need to work that out before agreeing to a visit. If U have a lot of monthly bills like paying rent, utilities, etc. maybe really decide how to rearrange your daily living before tackling a program like this. Honestly the only way U can get the full learning value from something like this is by choosing to stay at each farm for a bare minimum of a month, before moving on. And if U choose a farm which is across the country, U are going to want it to pay off for having gone so far, and the only real payoff here (if U are serious about farming & not simply looking for a cheap vacation spot) is the education U gain from each farm. Another thing is, some farms (the serious ones) have zero issue supplying All of your “Needs” as far as hygiene, work tools (gloves, etc), & ensuring your nutritional & safety needs are met. However if U end up choosing a farm which is either Woke, trendy, or str8 up scam artists looking for slave labor then U need to be able to supply your own Needs. Please take note I specifically used the word Needs and Not Wants. While some farms become extended family and will try to meet your wants as well, that is Not something U should expect under any circumstances, as it's not part of the contract.
I want to give a Shout-out to Another Brilliantly Talented Creative here on Stacksland,
who reminded me yesterday that I had told U all I would give better insight as to what this program was all about, as well as inspiring me to fill U all in on a few other programs I've learned about thru my journey, which are similar in nature to this one. If U haven't read any of his worx yet, U should really check him out!!During my Learning journey~ I have come across 2 other programs and as well, in speaking with other WWOOFers was enlightened on a manner by which to become a Farm/Ranch Hand on your own. The lightbulb moment on that one actually made me laugh because as per my usual it's always the seemingly obvious things I miss until blatantly pointed out by someone during conversation. The other WWOOFer pointed out the original means by which to gain employment, in any field. If U are a Gen X, then I'm sure U can remember how we used to do it~ research the place U want to work, open communication lines with the owner and “sell yourself” as to why they Need U!! And realistically, long before the advent of computers & the interwebs, That is Exactly how & the only way Farm/Ranch Hands got employed!! Now onto the 1st similar program I learned of. There's another Fantabulous Creative on Stackland
who was having a conversation in Notes (I believe) about taking his kid for a Summer of WorkAway, I was intrigued as to what that was so I engaged in the conversation and asked about it. Come to find out it’s pretty much identical to WWOOF but instead of specific to Farming, it's more of an Odd Jobs type of program, i.e.: painting, construction (light), landscaping, etc. So basically U stay with someone who provides Room & Board for U while U invest your skills & labor for them. I have no personal experience with this program as of yet but I do keep that on the back burner, in case if I feel I can find something there to assist my self-sufficiency training. The 3rd program I learned of is exactly like WWOOF with a twist of the employment site indeed combined. It's for All types of Farms, but for internships, apprenticeships, and sometimes just str8 up employment offerings. That one is on a site called ATTRA (btw; I will post All 3 links at the end of this, for anyone interested in checking them out). Some of those farms have housing, some pay by stipend, some pay by W2- again its up to U to research which is best suited to provide what U are looking for. With the internships U do have to apply (just like any 9-5) and the “ad” will tell U exactly how they want your application, whether a questionnaire answered via email, a phone conversation or video chat. Honestly the only reason I have not already gotten into that is because, those internships don't begin for a couple months yet. In the meantime I'm building my Farm Experience Resume, along with my reference list via WWOOF. As U can see above my resume is steadily growing as well as My references which are all glowing. The one thing that holds true with this, as with anything U choose to do, is It's All About Mindset!! The work can be physically laborious, but it honestly feels Great. The work is not actually difficult but because Humans are involved, some of whom have not detached from current Matrixland societal norms, the work is often made way more difficult than it should ever be. U know yourself, by being honest with yourself, U can find pure Peace & Joy in Farming, If U Love Nature. Yes there are farms which are just beginning to become a self-sufficient worx, so those farms are generally pretty honest about just how “roughing it” your stay will be. I've also found in my experience that the farms which are run by Men are way more honest about what they are about, and way more realistic about what the hell Farming is Supposed to be about. This is also why I personally have more male friends than female tho, because this current society feels the need to be dishonest, sugarcoat shit, worry about what someone else will say, worried about bein in everyone else's business, fitting in with the latest trend, being politically correct, asskissing, gossiping, and being lazy while still attempting to think they're in competition with the rest of the females. None of these attributes is Divine Feminine nor respectful in anyway, which automatically makes anyone who abides by that set of standards, not worth my energy. One of the reasons I Love my Stackland People's is because I have actually found quite a few Real Women, Divine Feminines here who I know for a fact Are part of My Soul Tribe Family!!

I hope anyone who's interested finds enough information to know if this is the route they want to go. If U have any further questions, feel free to ask me in the comments, I can't guarantee U that I'll have an answer for U but I will Always try my best. I know this particular piece is months past due, and for that I won't actually offer an apology, just keepin it real, I've been thru some shit since June, and I've also been doing a whole fuck ton of internal work. So while yes this is slow in getting the info out there, I have been steadily building & progressing in life & in my purpose, even thru the oftentimes complete chaos, as well as the times I am just completely drained with nothing left for me much less an offering for anyone else. I still keep U All in My Heart & Thoughts at All times, and Always Send Each & Everyone of U Mad Love & an Abundance of Blessings🥰🥰👑👑💜💜☯️☯️🧿🧿🌴🌴
This is dope. I’ve never heard of the program. You’ve obtained skills every human should possess living in our milk toast world. Completely envious of you. 😂
